Inspired by CeeCee for this Hybrid challenge at ScrapAuxPuces

Hi everyone... its was a rainy day in Montreal today, I did not get the chance to spend the day in my craftroom, but I did get some time to work on this beautiful page.

We were challenged by Elliam  (Caroline) on Scrap Aux Puce to do a Hybrid page... so basically, to print at home a page that we liked and use it as our background. Sounded simple enough? Well... not really, first you need to find the image..  Initially I thought of creating my own digital one, gave up that idea real quickly (truly hate working on my computer), then I started looking around to find a page that INSPIRED me. Well that became easy... I have a craft friend Catherine Coté, that I've known now for a few years, you might know her as CeeCee. She happens to be one of the most creative and talented artist that I know in the Montreal area. Not only is she full of talent, but she is just so sweet and funny. Over the last years, I've followed and admired  her work. So I took my chance and asked if I could use one of her watercolor pieces for my challenge. Lucky for me she said yes..

So here is her lovely watercolor image (Art before midnight snack):

and here is my hybrid scrap using her page. Another one for our cuban vacation album:

If you want to see or purchase some of CeeCee's artwork, visite her at the following webpages.

Thanks to Caroline for keeping us on our toes with your wonderful challenges, and a special thanks to Catherine (CeeCee) for letting me play with your work.

Have a great day everyone !

Magique- 7 Dots Studio & Scrap Africa august challenges

Oh yes, I am still working on my 12 x 12 album from our Cuban vacation, time for another page. This one is of our family lounging in the beautiful pool at the hotel. This was our end of the afternoon routine.

The chipboard title from Cuts2Lus is painted with the beautiful deep purple metalic paints from the Finnabair product line. I wish the picture could catch the beautiful shimmer that it truly has. I love this FUN badge from Cuts2Luv, the Ombre effect is beautiful.

The challenge this month over at 7Dots Studio is Metallic or texture. Here is the beautiful inspiration board and link to access the challenge if you want to join in on the fun:

For my participation, I used the Prima Finnabair metalic paints on my chipboard and also diluted to color my flowers. I also added some metal fragmentson my page & flowers. And there is plenty of texture with my modeling paste thru the stencil.

My next entry for this page is my first particiation at Scrap Africa. I love the color of this beautiful moodboard. The mix of blue and purple,, wow... What inspired me was also the water and the flowers. I am pretty happy on how my page turned out with this color palet. The blue of the pool was my starting point for this page. We just loved relaxing there. When I looked at the moodboard it had energery and relaxation in it for me, that why I knew it was the perfect combo for my page.

Thanks for the inspiration to both Design Teams....

Blue Fern Studio & Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo challenges

Good morning everyone, wow, mid august already... We had a rainy weekend so I took some time to play in my craftroom and was able to do this piece that I am entering in 2 August chalenges.

The fist challenge: Blue Fern studios

My page for the Blue Fern Studio August challenge: 3 Collections + You

What I like the most about the Blue Fern paper collections are the thickness of the paper. Playing with Mixed-Media brings challenges when you have light paper because it gets warped even though you coat it with clear gesso. I love the look and feel of this particular one, the wood grain effect is stunning with the hint of turquoise, I could not resist. You will also find on my page the title and some background chipboard ornaments. I Love the blue fern chipboards, they are hight wuality and are easy to manipulate.

For my challenge entry I chose for my page is this beautiful Tranquility collection piece:

The second entry for my page is for Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo. This is my first entry with them.  I was inspired by the August challenge of Meadow flowers challenge. I used one of my many pictures taken dusring my trip to Amsterdam. This picture was taken at the Kukenhof flower garden, in the Orchid Pavillion. Blue Orchids, I just fell in LOVE.

Friends, More than Words & Lindy's Stamp Gang challenges for August entry

I am in the mood for bold colors today, I had so much fun making this most recent piece, it's always easy to get crafty when you are inspired and once again, More than Words challenge blog and Lindy's Stamp Gang had wonderful challenges this month.

Let's start with my inpiration for the More than Words challenge. We need friends and circles. Well, my starting point for this page was easy, I knew I wanted to capture the craft weekend that a bunch of us had last May, but what friend? That was the hard part. So I opted for this beautiful picture of Isabelle and I. We've known each other now for several years and have worked on a few creative teams together but Isabelle lives far away in the Gaspe region of Quebec, so we've never met in person before. Over the years we've used facetime to craft together and chatted alot, but this spring was the first time we got to craft together. It was a great weekend. So here is my page:

For the circles I played with chipboard pieces and titles for 2 Crafty Chipboards. I also added some embossed circles, a flair badge from Cuts2Luv and used some of the many drew drops that I've got stashed in my craftroom.

The chipboards really describe well our weekend that was tons of fun with friends with plenty of laughs. Also this cute stamp set that I have from Pretty Little Studios : One Fine Day, Dream Create Hustle Repeat and Just a Sweetie... Just perfect !

Here is a closer look:

I painted my chipboards with the Finnabair metalic paints, just YUMMY ! The pictures do not give it justice.

Wow, what can I say, I LOVE bold colors and this kit is BOLD and of course I did have that kit at home, it was one of my first purchases in my Lindy's stash...

I started as always with clear Gesso on my page, then took out my Magical powders and starting to have fun creating my background.

I used 3 colors of mt Caribbean Cruise magical flat powders. You can find the complet set here: Caribbean Cruise Magical Flat Powders set
1-Luscious lime
2-Mango Mania
3-Hibiscus Rose

Later in my process I added some eblossing and used the following powders from my stash (store links included):

Merry-go-Round

Thanks to both creative teams, keep the beautiful moodboards and inspiration coming. Wishing all of you a fabulous brightful day !

August challenge at Cuts2Luv & Dusty Attic

I am still crafting away at our Cuba vacation pictures, we have so many memories that I want to put on paper, hope you won't get tired of my Cuban inspired pages...

I also had fun using my embossing powders and sprays from Lindy's stamp gang. I just love the effects on my page, it gives it so much debth.

For this page I was inspired by 2 challenges.

The 1st one is the beautiful monthly moodboard. So easy to say, Caroline is one of my besty craft friends, so I am sold on her products, but to be honnest, she always has a fabulous moodboard every month.

You can find the challenge here: http://cuts2luv.blogspot.com/2016/08/tableau-dinspiration-aout.html

The 2 elements I chose are the picture with an animal (Dolphin) and the sketch.

Here is a closer look at one of the badges on my page:

If you want to participate in the challenge go to the blog here:

The beautiful moodboard:

I was inspired by the colors, the wood element (paper on my page) and the flowers that I hand cut out of the paper. I like the fresh look this color palet gave my page. Truly beautiful moodboard and I just love my new chipboards.

Thanks for the inspiration ! Hope you enjoyed my take on the challenges.
